Alleged burial site of Talargan, King of the Picts

Pictured here are the standing stones with Dumgoyach in the background. Carbon dating puts these stones between 3400BC and 3500BC. It is reputed to be the burial site of Talargan, King of the Picts, slewn by Teudwr, King of Strathclyde in 750.

Dumgoyach is a beautiful, heavily wooded volcanic plug equidistant from Strathblane and Killearn, lying below Dumgoyne, and between the Blane Water and The West Highland Way adjacent to Duntreath Castle in Stirlingshire.
